表面活性剂有几种，分阴离子型，阳离子型，两性零子型（阴阳离子都有），非离子型。其中阳离子会吸附在皮肤表面，很少用在洁面产品中，不过在护发素里很常见， 比如Benzalkonium Chloride, Stearalkonium Chloride, Centrimonium Chloride, Trimethyl Ammoniums 和Methyl Sulphates
其他三种如下：
阴离子型包括常见的皂基，为比较强的表面活性剂, 泡沫丰富。如果想要比较温和的洁面品，最好避免。辨认的方法除了找常见的成分Sodium(ammonium) Lauryl Sulphate, 可以在成分表里寻找类似的字眼： sodium or ammonium, sulfosuccinates, sarcosines，sarcosinates, isethionates，taurates. 看到这些成分就可以绕道而过了。
两性和非离子型都较温和. 分辨方法如下：
两性：温和的表面活性剂，低泡沫。基本上什betaines的，就是两性的，比如Coco Betaine and Lauryl Betaine, 还有Hydroxysultaines
非离子型：更加温和，无泡沫。常见的有Polysorbate（20，80等等），sorbitan oleate。 这一类分辨方法：PEG-xxxx, Emulsifying Wax NF，E-wax, Glyceryl Oleate, Glyceryl Stearate, the Ceteareth family, the Oleth family, the Sorbitan family, Polyglycose and Lauryl Glucoside.
以上比较枯燥，不过如果想看成分，这是最简单的方法了。
有名的bioderma crealine卸装水，用的是非离子型的PEG-xxxx，所以不起泡，免洗。看看成分，大概自己配也差不离：
Aqua, PEG-6 caprylic/capric glycerides, propylene glycol, cucumis sativus (cucumber) extract, fructo-oligosaccharides, mannitol, xylitol, rhamnose, disodium edta, cetrimonium bromide
